“As 2005 was a sudden cold shower for the Ukrainians, so 2006 is a compulsory and slow immersion into an icy ice-hole”

According to experts’ opinion, political and economic events of the past year haven’t made the life of the ordinary Ukrainians better.

The PRT communication group presented the total of an investigation dedicated to the question of resonance of different political and economic events of the past year. Rather logically parliament elections were put on the first place by the experts (more than 100 representatives of Mass Media, business, social and political state organizations).

The fact that Ukraine has just spent the last year according to edited Constitution and became a parliament-presidential republic occupied the second position in the rating of resonance events. Experts placed the creation of parliament coalition and appointment of Victor Yanukovich as the head of government on the third and fourth places. In the further rating such events as accepting of the “Law on Famine”, European parliament’s decision to start the discussion over the Ukraine’s associated membership in the European Union, firing of Yury Lutsenko (the ex-head of Ministry of Inner Affairs), Yury Yekhanurov’s government resignation and the release of Boris Tarasyuk were mentioned. The fact that parliament accepted the state budget for 2007 and the gas conflict with Russia were put on the top of the rating of economic events.

The PRT communication group experts whose specialization concerns activities in the sphere of PR-technologies faced an unpleasant conclusion: political and economic events of the past year haven’t improved life of the ordinary Ukrainians in any way. On the contrary, they became a component of an explosive mixture, which self-destroys Ukrainian politics and partly economics. 240 common national events include 60% of negatively evaluated ones. As Yaroslav Hobta, the head manager of the PRT communication group, announced,as 2005 was a sudden cold shower for the Ukrainians, so 2006 is a compulsory and slow immersion into an icy ice-hole. Ukrainian authorities and politicians completely disappointed the majority of society, made the whole civilized world look at our country with some suspects in the last year. Ukraine didn’t gain any victory, which could be associated with the victory of an entire nation – neither in an outer direction, nor in the inner policy”.
