If you believe the words “Politicians behave the way allowed by voters” (there is no reason not to believe), then for the remaining 10 days before the second round the miracle does not happen. Voters will choose a new president.
But, I think, neither before, nor after the elections they will not know what awaits them in the next five years.
Blame the politicians is the last thing to do. The presidential race, which according to the laws of the genre should be a competition of ideas and intelligence, passed like a large-scale advertising campaign. This stems from the too low and, I would say, primitive demands of the electorate. Moreover, this is concerning all social groups simultaneously. Because the proposal defines a purely demand, demand, and once again demand. That is why I do not believe, that for the remaining 10 days our electorate — tired, disappointed and broken up into small bands in the interests — will gird up and asks our two candidates: so what do you offer us, Sirs?
And on the items, please, do not hype... For any self-respecting civil society this is not so impossible task to achieve from a politician his specifying election program, to vote for no by heart and no by some other place, namely by the head. Maybe, for the next elections we are all together will be ready for such understanding of choosing our future, but not for these - for sure. But there is good news for all of us - we have a serious and clearly defined public request for a third force and the first round of elections can be officially considered like its birthday. Therefore, this is even not bad, that this year we will have the local and, God forbid, the parliamentary elections. And the future Ukrainian president, whoever it will be, would have to reckon with this public inquiry, whatever one may be. Of course, there is no hope for miracle; still it is important to force yourself, to make the brain work and to analyze every candidate in detail even if for yourself sitting at the kitchen table. Taking into account the maximum limitation of choice, it won’t take you long, and at the same time you’ll go to the polling station with more or less fresh thoughts. So, there are no any other choices - the new president will be in any case.
… I went to visit my parents in Ovruch, recently. There is a natural disaster and nobody talk about it on TV. In the region because of the terrible ice formation in the conditions of 20-degree frost there is no power in almost 40 inhabited localities for today. And there is no technique, except of bulldozers which can get through the forests of Polissya to the broken power lines. But the number of bulldozers at the whole region is Zero. For the last years, the bulldozers whether eliminated somewhere or canceled, or sold. In general, there are no bulldozers in the region. And people, meanwhile, are happy that the EMA has decided to provide the region with two bulldozers this year… Well, a country in a miniature.
